Lufthansa to operate PrivatAir flights to Munich during the winter season

Lufthansa has announced that starting from 8th November; it plans to operate narrow bodied jets of Swiss company PrivatAir on the Munich to Tel Aviv route. Lufthansa: There will be two classes of service, compatible with those found on the Lufthansa’s airbus A330 and A340 services.

Starting on 8th November and for the duration of the winter, Lufthansa will operate aircraft type Boeing 737-800, belonging to PrivatAir, on their flights between Munich and Tel Aviv, every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

According to the company, the flights will be on one of the new Boeing 737-800 aircraft belonging to PrivatAir and will have two service classes, comprising 24 business class and 84 economy class seats.  All seats will have a private television screen and entertainment service from Lufthansa Media World.

Ofer Kisch, managing director of Lufthansa in Israel, said that despite the decrease in the number of seats during the winter season, Lufthansa will continue to offer its customers on all of its flights to Germany an upgraded business class service.

Since 2002, the Swiss owned company PrivatAir, has operated transatlantic flights on aircraft with business class configuration on behalf of Lufthansa. For now, with the reduction in demand expected during the winter season, the narrow bodied airplane will also be integrated into the Munich to Tel Aviv route.

Overall, Lufthansa will reduce its number of flights during this winter season by 7.5 percent, with the main reductions being to destinations within Europe. During this coming winter Lufthansa will operate about 12,046 weekly flights, this compares to 13,402 flights during last winter.
