El Al to charge for use of Telephone Service Center

El Al has announced that as from 15th November they intend to collect $10 or deduct 20 points for providing telephone service to Matmid club members for transactions that can be carried out via the El Al web site.

El Al has announced that they will charge for the following services: Issuing of vouchers for bonus tickets and issuing deal tickets up to and including receipt of the ticket by email made through the company’s Telephone Service Center, rather than carried out via the company’s web site.  There will be no charge for carrying out these activities online through the El Al web site.

According to El Al, during the last two years the company has invested extensively in developing and upgrading online tools for the benefit of club members, enabling  them to perform transactions on their accounts through the website.

“We would like to encourage the use of the internet by Matmid members for all services that do not require handling by the Telephone Service Center. This will allow our Telephone Service Center to provide speedy service to those whose requests require personal intervention.”

El Al said that if a member chooses to pay by points, but does not have sufficient points to pay for the transaction they will be charged $10.
