Delta Airlines to reduce capacity on the Atlanta-Tel Aviv route

The American airline Delta has announced a reduction in the number of flights per week on the route from Atlanta to Tel Aviv from 7 to 4, during the period from October until March.  Delta: “The Company continues to operate daily flights from Tel Aviv to New York and remains positive about the Israeli market.

Delta Airlines will reduce the number of flights on the Atlanta to Tel Aviv route with the aim of dealing with the lower demand expected during the coming winter season.  Passengers who have already purchased tickets for the period 25th October until 27th March 2010 will be allocated seats on alternative Delta flights via New York.

Delta which is the largest airline is also the first to announce a reduction in operations to Israel for the coming winter.  With that the company stressed that at this time they do not expect any additional changes and remain positive about the Israeli market.

On its routes to Israel Delta operates a daily flight to New York on aircraft type 767 and on the route to Atlanta aircraft type 777.

During the coming winter there is expected to be a significant reduction in the number of passengers on the routes to and from Israel and it appears that the aviation industry is preparing for reductions in seating capacity.
