The owners of the Fattal hotel chain held a press conference at the new Leonardo Hotel which opened in the last few days in the Ramat Hahayal area of Tel Aviv at a cost of 130 million shekels. David Fattal: “In recent years the commercial centers of the big cities have actually become areas where boutique hotels have flourished.”
“We looked for a special location to build a hotel in Tel Aviv and chose Ramat Hahayal, because the seafront is already full and when we started building everyone raised an eyebrow; however we are determined to attract the business community.” These were the words of David Fattal during a tour of the hotel held for journalists. The Leonardo Boutique Hotel opened a few days ago, after two years of planning and construction at a cost of 130 million shekels. According to Fattal, this model does not exist in any hotel in Tel Aviv and is a reminder of the boutique hotels in New York and in the European capitals. “We didn’t want a regular business hotel, but one that constitutes a destination in its own right,” declared Fattal.
The Leonardo Boutique Hotel offers 167 rooms – including 17 suites of the size of a 5 star hotel. Moshe Kastiel who was appointed to design the hotel said that his thoughts were to give to those staying only for a day or two that positive and pampered feeling. According to him business travel could well be exhausting.
Fattal commented that in the near future there will be additional hotels in the Leonardo chain with the purchase of Azorim Tourism. Prices will begin at 790 shekels a night for a couple during the coming month.
The Leonardo brand name was established two years ago by David Fattal. The chain currently has 32 hotels in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland, in light of the expansion of the activities of the Fattal chain it was decided to introduce the brand to Israel.
The Fattal chain recently completed the purchase of the Azorim Tourism and with it the 12 hotels of Sheraton, Accur and Moriah under its management. With this step the Fattal chain has become the largest in Israel with 30 hotels throughout the country.
