Continental: CEO visits to celebrate 10 years service in Israel

Chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines, Larry Kelner will arrive in Israel for a 12 hour visit, in order to meet with economic chiefs and heads of aviation and tourism.  Avi Friedman: "About 120,000 Israelis are members of Continental’s frequent flyer program."

At the end of this week, Continental Airlines will mark 10 years of operations in Israel.  To mark the occasion, Chairman and CEO, Larry Kellner will visit Israel and is expected to meet with heads of the economy, representatives of the aviation and tourism industry and employees of the company.

Kellner will be the guest of honor at a party to be held at the home of the United States ambassador, James Cunningham.

Avi Friedman, regional manager for Continental Airlines for Israel and Greece, said that the celebration of 10 years, plus the visit of Kellner, reflected the long term commitment of the company to the Israeli market.

 “Since the launch of the first flight from Tel Aviv to New York on 2nd August 1999, we have continued to serve the Israel market during both the good and less good times,” declared Friedman.

According to Friedman, during the course of the last decade, Continental has operated more than 11,000 flights and has flown more than 2.5 million passengers on the route from Tel Aviv to its base at Newark Liberty Airport.   He added that more than 120,000 Israelis are members of the company’s frequent flyer program, OnePass.
