Easy Jet: Ready for the competition on flights to Israel

Easy Jet, the British low cost carrier which will start its service to Israel this coming winter commented that it was not frightened of the fierce competition on the London to Tel Aviv route.  “We are the first low cost company on the route and our aim is to offer the lowest prices.”

Following on from their announcement to operate 6 direct flights a week to Israel from London Luton Airport, on aircraft type A320, a spokesperson for the company declared:  “the fierce competition on the route and the large supply of tickets does not present an obstacle from our point of view.”

Easy Jet arrives in Israel on the background of the worldwide slowdown in passenger traffic, caused as a result of the global economic recession, however it seems that in spite of the negative data – Israel is regarded as a relatively long haul flight for a low cost airline, price of fuel and falling ticket prices – Easy Jet continues to plan its program.

“We are the only low cost airline on the route (Jet2.com flies to Manchester) London to Tel Aviv and we are not afraid of the competition,” said Samantha Day, spokesperson for Easy Jet, in a conversation with Educational. “Our aims are to offer the lowest prices by far, giving passengers the option to fly more frequently.”

While Easy Jet will use the local ground handling service at Ben Gurion Airport, their sales operations will be handled by their offices in the United Kingdom.
