Isrotel to operate direct flights from London to Eilat

The Isrotel hotel chain is offering wholesale travel agents direct flights from London to Eilat starting on the 14th December.  The Sun d’Or flight, on aircraft type Boeing 757-200 with 207 seats will depart from London Luton Airport.

Rafi Sadeh the managing director of the Isrotel hotel chain explained that as a result of the world economic recession plus the unavailability of direct flights, the number of tourists visiting Eilat from Britain had declined substantially in recent years. He added “we looked for a new and creative method to bring the British tourist back to Eilat”.

As a result Isrotel will operate its own ‘Sun Express’ service during the coming winter season.  This will be in addition to the company’s direct Paris to Eilat service that operates during the peak summer season.  According to Sadeh the package from Luton to Tel Aviv will include flight and hotel accommodation at one of the Isrotel’s four hotels in Eilat.

At present, Isrotel have signed an agreement to operate 14 direct flights from London Luton Airport.  Sadeh added “we are conscious that the weakness of sterling has caused an increase in the price of holiday costs for the British tourist, as a result we decided to reduce our margins by keeping our packages at the past prices while offering good and worthwhile holiday packages at our hotels in Eilat.”

The Isrotel Sun Express is designed for passengers booking a holiday package in one of the Isrotel hotels.  The flight departs from London Luton Airport every Monday with the return flight from Eilat to Luton seven days later. Isrotel reported that the packages will be sold by wholesale travel agents only and will not be sold directly to the public.
