Truvle Ltd launch advertising on ET

Israeli company Truvle Ltd, owned by business man Ofer Glazer, has announced the launch of a new software product which allows targeted advertising on the e-ticket sent by the travel agent to the traveler's personal email address.

The airline ticket and itinerary generated by Truvle's new software will contain advertisements, banners, restaurant and shopping options, promotions and sporting events and other information specific to the passenger based on travel dates and itinerary.

According to Glazer, tourism and infrastructure suppliers are living in difficult times, with reduced budgets and lower fees; but this valuable new tool will give them the opportunity to gain additional business thanks to the power of the internet.

Truvle's system is Web based providing travel agents with access to an on-line, synchronized and up-to-date worldwide knowledge base, with additional data provided by the global distribution systems (GDS). It will also provide passengers with detailed and updated information on their intended destination as well as specific information relevant to particular events, local shopping and sports and the like.

Alon Zaibert, CEO of Truvle, a company founded with an investment of 3.5 million shekels, said that the new e-tickets will become a unique, effective and attractive marketing tool. “Our next-generation e-tickets and itineraries give advertisers a competitive edge in today’s interactive travel industry.  Truvle has transformed them into a useful, attractive travel tool providing a personalized home page with special appeal to busy travelers.”   He also added "Historically, travelers have been a desirable target because of their high level of disposable income. The new medium presents ads, banners, promotions and listings in a unique, interactive platform. It provides worldwide exposure to a captive audience of consumers, reaching millions of unique users daily."

Zaibert estimates that more than 2 billion airline air tickets and itineraries were issued in 2008 in Europe and North America alone; approximately 65 percent of those issued by travel agents. He commented that this represented a massive amount of potential blank billboard which could be exploited.  Zaibert predicted that the ordinary e-ticket and itinerary would go the way of the dinosaur. "In their current format, they are confusing to read and limited in scope."
