With the summer season approaching, British Airways will this week announce prices for their flights to London and North America for winter 2010. In order to attract customers for the winter season the company is willing to offer discounts of up to 30 percent on tourist class tickets.
As a result of the continuing slowdown in passenger traffic, British Airways has been forced to change its strategy to fit in with the current economic climate, including attempts to attract customers from competing airlines, on a route with intense competition.
According to Yael Katan, Commercial Manager of British Airways in Israel, the tourism and aviation industries have had to change, because customers are now demanding lower prices. She added that this was a wonderful opportunity for those wishing to travel overseas during the coming winter season, including at Chanukah and for Christmas and the New Year holidays.
The price for a tourist class ticket to London will be $484, compared to the regular winter price of $691. A ticket to New York in tourist class throughout the offer period will be $710 compared to the regular price of $1,070 and to Los Angeles $848 instead of the regular price of $1,259.
British Airways have advised that these price include all service charges and are valid on departures from Israel for the period starting 1st October 2009 until 31st March 2010, with a minimum of 3 nights stay.
