At the end of March, El Al will start their marketing campaign for the spring and summer seasons. From the 21st June El Al will start operating 246 flights to 40 destinations. Haim Romano CEO of El Al says that the summer timetable places special emphasis on the needs of the business traveler.
With the launch of the new flight schedules for the spring and summer 2009, El Al will fly 22 weekly flights to New York, 8 flights to Bangkok, 5 flights to Los Angeles and Hong Kong, 19 flights to Paris. From the 2nd May they will fly 4 times a week to Cairo and will start 3 weekly flights to Sao Paolo in Brazil. According to the company this is a 20 percent increase in frequency on the autumn and winter flight timetable and similar to the schedule of last summer.
Haim Romano, the CEO of El Al said that the new schedule stresses the continued growth in the North American and Far East markets, while at the same time improving the frequency and departure times to other destinations. He also stressed that they El Al was offering the business traveler, one of the company’s main areas of growth, an attractive flight schedule.
Amit Livni, director of marketing for El Al commented that since the new price list was launched there has been steady growth and El Al’s aim is to ensure that this growing demand for flights continues. Livni commented that by maintaining attractive and competitive pricing, El Al sees continued growth. The desire to be competitive is greater than last year. Livni also mentioned that interest in the new route to Sao Paolo has already attracted considerable interest from potential customers.
As part of the summer program, El Al will be operating flights to Brazil, increasing capacity on flights to Los Angeles, New York and Toronto as well as increasing the frequency on flights to major European destinations such as Berlin, Geneva and Frankfurt. El Al will also increase the number of flights to regional destinations such as Athens and Cairo.
