Despite the recession, British Airways are adding an extra flight on the Tel Aviv to London route from the beginning of June to meet customer demand. The flight from London will depart Thursday afternoon and the return from Tel Aviv on Friday lunchtime. British Airways will operate Boeing 777s on this flight.
British Airways has announced that from 4th June they are adding an additional flight on the very competitive London to Tel Aviv route. This new weekly flight increases the number of BA flights on the London to Tel Aviv route to 15 per week.
According to Yael Katan, Commercial Manager of British Airways in Israel, British Airways continues to be the leading player on the Tel Aviv to London route; this is despite the continuing economic recession and growing competition from other airlines.
British Airways point out that the departure of the flight from Israel on Friday lunchtime in the summer months will enable religious passengers sufficient time to reach London before the start of the Sabbath. The flight from London on Thursday afternoon will allow passengers to enjoy a full Thursday morning in London before returning to Israel. For any passengers departing the west coast of the United States on Wednesday, this will be the perfect connecting flight to Israel.
Flight BA167 will depart from London Heathrow, Terminal 5 at 13:55 every Thursday and will arrive at Ben Gurion Airport at 20:55. While the return flight from Tel Aviv to London, BA166 departs every Friday from Ben Gurion Airport at 12:40 in the afternoon and arrives at London Heathrow, Terminal 5 at 16:05.
The flight on a Boeing 777 will provide four different passenger classes. First for first class passengers, Club World for business class passengers and two tourist class cabins, World Traveller (31 inch seat pitch) and World Traveller Plus (38 inch seat pitch).
British Airways's 15th weekly flight joins the other main British carrier bmi, who are adding a second daily flight from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv and to the low cost charter airline Jet2.com who will start flights on the Tel Aviv to Manchester route.
