Sun d’Or to charge for upgraded services

With the approach of summer, Sun d’Or will restore its direct flights to the resort town of Burgas in Bulgaria after a 3 year break.  The flights will resume from 28th May and will operate on Boeing 757 planes, twice weekly.  According to Bezalel Karvat, CEO of Sun d’Or, the twice weekly flight to Burgas have already been sold to operators in the hope that this destination will once again become a favored holiday resort for Israeli tourists in place of Turkey.  Flights to Burgas were stopped 3 years ago following a lack of passenger traffic.

The general manager of Sun d’Or said that our direction is to improve and expand the array of services provided to our passengers for a fee. The company has begun to offer their passengers personal DVD sets, allowing them a choice of films during flights. “In light of the upgraded in-flight services we are preparing for the spring and summer seasons, where with the increase in family flights to different resorts, we have want to make the flight a pleasant experience for our passengers.”

On flights of more than 4 hours, Sun d’Or offers their passengers quality sandwiches and snacks for a fee, this is in addition to the free beverages and pastries already provided.  Additionally on flights operating a business class service, there will be the option to upgrade to business class and sit at the front of the plane during the check-in at Ben Gurion Airport.

Also Sun d’Or will continue to offer their passengers pre-flight check-in from home with the aim of allowing them to avoid the airport security check and to receive their boarding card.  With regards to the effect of El Al’s new price list on the enhanced services being provided by Sun d’Or, Karvat added: “Sun d’Or does not rival but complements El Al.”
