According to the hotel’s general manager Martin Rogers, the global economic crisis is unlikely to affect tourism to Sinai “We intend to maintain tourist numbers during 2009”. He commented that about 1,500 Israelis visited the hotel during the period from June through August.
He added that most Israeli tourists make their reservations about two weeks before their trip, via a number of Israeli travel agents. However increasing numbers book their trips directly with the hotel or through the internet.
Last weekend Rogers hosted a group of journalists from Eilat to discuss current issues.
