More than 200,000 workers travel overseas each year on a vacation – most to Turkey - this year they will be forced to choose a different destination. A survey carried out by Vaadim Company, which advises on the economic activities of the workers committees in Israel, carried out recently among the 193 workers committees in Israel.
Data from the survey shows that the workers' committees are unimpressed by the special offers being offered by the Turkish hoteliers in an attempt to lure back the Israeli tourists and stressed that they will not be sending their workers to the Turkish club hotels this year.
According to Yakov Alush, Managing director of Vaadim Company the survey showed incredible results, that 100% of its participants called to boycott Turkey. The survey also revealed that the void that the boycott has created for the Turkish holiday sites will be replaced by holidays in Greece, Cyprus and Eastern Europe.
Nevertheless only 20% of the workers committees announced that as a result of the boycott of Turkey. that they would prefer to send their workers to a holiday in Israel. 98% of the worker's committees indicated that the discounts offered by the Turkish hoteliers will not affect their decision
Among the employees committees who took part in the survey were Egged, the Electricity Company, Cargo companies, the Army industry, Tnuva, Municipality of Holon, ECI, Electra, Refineries, FIBI, Teachers Union, Tempo, Bezeq, Tadiran, Beilinson Hospital, Ben Gurion University and more.
