Amikam Cohen, the founder and first Chief Executive Officer of Partner Communications, served in this role until the beginning of 2007.   Prior to that he was Chief Executive Officer of Elite Industries Ltd, one of Israel's largest confectionery and coffee producers. Managing Director of Strauss Dairies Ltd. General Manager of the Refrigerator and Air Conditioning Division of Tadiran Home Appliances Ltd.  Plus other senior roles at the Tadiran Telecommunications Group.

During his time at Partner, Haim Romano, current Chief Executive Officer at El Al served as Deputy to Cohen and was in line to replace him as Chief Executive Officer at Partner.

Cohen serves today as Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Water, a subsidiary of the Hutchison Whampoa group.  The company provides comprehensive water production and treatment solutions, such as desalination, water reuse, wastewater treatment and other water technologies.

The board of directors and management of El Al thanked Amnon Lipkin-Shahak for his service and wished Amikam Cohen success in his new position.   From the beginning of the month, Eli Cohen, previously Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, replaces Rami Levi as Vice President Commercial & Industry Affairs of El Al.
