Minister of Tourism signs new agreements with Brazil
 
Minister of Transport, Stas Misezhnikov, signed two political agreements on behalf of the Israeli Government – a tourism agreement and an extradition agreement with the Brazilian Government. Misezhnikov escorted the President on a state visit to Brazil and Argentina.

October: Increase in incoming tourism to Israel
 
The Ministry of Tourism has reported that for the first time in 2009, an increase in the number of incoming tourists to Israel was recorded during October. There were a total of 330,000 visitors, an all time record for the month and an increase of 9 percent compared to October 2008. Last year saw a record number of incoming tourists visiting Israel.

Fattal Hotels become the largest chain in Israel
 
Fattal Hotels completed the purchase of Azorim Tourism for 970 million shekels and by doing so became the largest hotel chain in Israel with 29 hotels throughout the country.

Cybex Health Club & Spa to open at the Crowne Plaza in Jerusalem
 
In the coming days the Crown Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem will inaugurate a new branch of the Cybex health club and spa, at a cost of 4 million shekels. CEO of Africa Israel Hotels Ltd.: “This is a continuation of the general upgrade that has taken place in the hotel during the last couple of years at a cost of 40 million shekels.”

Patrick Amar on his way from Air France to El Al
 
Patrick Amar who will in the coming days complete his term as general manager of Air France-KLM in Israel, is negotiating with El Al with a view to becoming regional manager for Europe, replacing Izzy Cohen, the current manager of El Al’s office in Paris.

Minister of Tourism to sign tourism agreement with Argentina
 
The tourist ministers of Israel and Argentina are expected to sign a tourism agreement between the two countries in the coming months. Minister Misezhnikov met with his Argentinean counterpart Carlos Enrique Meyer in Buenos Aires, during a visit to South American countries with Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Survey reveals that Jerusalem second after Eilat as favourite holiday city
 
A survey carried out by the Jerusalem Hotel Association among 542 respondents over the age of 18, revealed that about 60 percent rated Jerusalem as the city with most of the tourist and cultural sites and second in popularity after Eilat. Tel Aviv was rated in third place with 22 percent of the vote and Tiberias in fourth place registered 6 percent.

Minister of Transport: Aviation crisis with Russia maybe close to resolution
 
The deputy transport minister of Russia, Valery Okulov, announced to Minister of Transport Yisrael Katz that within a few days the Russian aviation authority will decide whether to comply to the Israeli request to allow additional Israeli airlines to operate scheduled flights on the Tel Aviv to Moscow route.
