5% fall in the number of Israelis travelling overseas between January & September
 
The Central Bureau of Statistics reported that in the period between January and September 2009, a fall of 5 percent was recorded in the number of Israelis travelling overseas compared to the same period last year. There were a total of 99,000 departures by sea, an increase of 21 percent on the previous year.

Following recent incidents workers’ committees to boycott Turkey
 
A survey of workers\' committees carried out in recent days has revealed that the majority of the main workers’ committees are once again planning to boycott holidays to Turkey, this in light of the broadcast of a fictional television program portraying Israeli soldiers murdering Palestinian children and of the cancellation of joint military exercises.

Turkish Airlines considering another daily flight to Israel
 
Turkish Airlines is considering adding an additional daily flight on the Antalya to Tel Aviv route from the summer of 2010. The number of weekly flights for the airline is expected to increase from 25 to 32, Moris Kant, marketing manager: “This plan is still on the agenda, despite the political tension.”

El Al to charge for use of Telephone Service Center
 
El Al has announced that as from 15th November they intend to collect $10 or deduct 20 points for providing telephone service to Matmid club members for transactions that can be carried out via the El Al web site.

Olympic Air may fly from Tel Aviv to the Greek Islands
 
The Israeli representative of Greek airline Olympic Air, has proposed to the company\'s new management to operate flights from Israeli to the Greek Islands. Sadikario: “It is possible that by next summer Olympic will operate scheduled or charter flights.”

Ethiopian Airlines increases to 5 weekly flights from Addis Ababa to Tel Aviv
 
Ethiopian Airlines will in the coming days add an additional weekly flight, the fifth on the route between Addis Ababa and Tel Aviv. The new flight will leave Israel every Thursday, departing at 00:20 and arriving in the Ethiopian capital at 05:50.

Economic committee discuss passenger compensation bill proposed by Members of the Knesset
 
The economic committee discussed the bill for compensation and assistance for passengers whose flight are delayed or cancelled as raised by MK Ahmad Tibi, MK Ibrahim Sarsur, MK Talab El-Sana, and MK Masud Ganaim. Koby Zussman: Passengers are the bread and butter of the airlines and any law implemented must be simple to apply.

Mayor of Eilat pressures Minister of Transport for more flights to Eilat
 
The mayor of Eilat, Meir Yitzhak-Halevy has joined those pressuring Minister of Transport Yisrael Katz and has called on him not to retreat from his original decision to allow El Al to operate many daily flights to the city. In the last week the President of the Hotels Association has also called on the Minister not to place limits on El Al.

Summer 2010: Delta Airlines to operate 747 on Tel Aviv-New York route
 
Delta Airlines has announced that it will increase the capacity on flights to New York from the summer of 2010. The company will add an additional 187 seats on the daily flight between Tel Aviv and New York, offering in total 403 places every day.
