Slump in the number of Israelis expected to take skiing holidays
 
The number of Israelis expected to take skiing holidays this year is expected to be down significantly on last year. The reason for the downturn as a result of the global economic recession and swine flu. The annual ski fair has also been postponed until an unspecified later date.

The number of passengers on international flights totaled 1,025,528 and represented a reduction on 1.25 percent on September 2008.

8% fall in foreign tourists visiting Israel in September
 
From the start of the year until the end of September 2009 a total of 1.9 million tourists visited Israel, this is a reduction of 15 percent compared to last year when 2.2 million tourists visited Israel. During September 242,000 foreign tourists visited Israel, a fall of 8 percent compared to September 2008.
