bmi to increase capacity to Israel
 
bmi has announced a second daily service between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv which will commence on 30 March 2009 on its A321 aircraft and will be upgraded onto its A330 aircraft from 3 May 2009.

El Al: Record number of tickets sold in two day period
 
El Al this week reported that during their special general election sales offer, it is estimated that they sold about 12,000 airline tickets during the two day period. During the campaign tickets were sold to leading destinations in Europe and the United States with discounts of between $100-$200.

Incoming tourism to Israel down 30% in January
 
Based on data provided by the Central Statistical Office, about 130,000 tourists visited Israel in January 2009 – a reduction of 30% compared to January 2008, but an increase of 12% on January 2007. For the first time since 2007 a sharp monthly fall was recorded in incoming daily tourism

Thompsonfly may suspend flights to Israel
 
Thompsonfly, a British subsidiary of the largest tour operator in Europe, TUI, has been operating four weekly flights between London – Tel Aviv and Manchester – Tel Aviv since November 2007. It is now considering whether to discontinue its flights to Israel. A spokesman for the company said that a decision will be made in the coming months

Turkish Tourism office trying to bring back Israeli travellers
 
The Turkish Tourism office in Israel is currently formulating a strategic publicity plan for Israelis, which is to be shown in Ankara as part of attempts to overcome the divisions between the two nations.

Ministry of Tourism launch new plan for the future
 
"In the coming years the world will recover from the global economic crisis. When this day arrives we in Israel need to be ready" explained Chairman of the Ministry of Tourism, Shaul Zemach, to the audience at the annual Israel tourism fair.

Israir to start scheduled service to Milan
 
Israir have received authorization from Minister of Transport, Shaul Mofaz, to start operating a scheduled service to Milan. For now Israir are preparing to operate the scheduled flight in cooperation with an Italian airline, in all probability Eurofly.
