Continental Airlines: CEO Kellner resigns
 
Larry Kellner, chairman of Continental Airlines, announced his resignation after 14 years with the company and after 5 years as chairman and CEO. Kellner revealed that he was leaving Continental to lead a private investment company. A party celebrating 10 years of the company’s operations in Israel was held at the residence of the US ambassador at which 450 guests were present.

Issta: Air tickets to Europe discounted by up to 80% discount for one night
 
The Issta travel agent network launched a new campaign called “White night”; offering El Al airline tickets at sales counters at Ben Gurion Airport at prices of between $111 and $280. Ronen Karaso: “We are offering huge discounts of up to 80 percent for those who show spontaneity.”

Tiberias: the dirtiest tourist city in Israel
 
Tiberias has the dubious honor of being ranked as the dirtiest tourist city in Israel. This according to a survey organized by the Tour Guides Association and is intended to check the readiness of the main tourist cities for the peak summer tourist season.

Sun d’Or to operate a weekly charter flight to Lisbon
 
Sun d’Or has announced that it will begin operating a charter flight to the Portuguese capital. The first flight will depart from Israel on Friday 24th July, landing in Lisbon six hours later. CEO Karvat: “We are expecting pilgrims to come to Israel from Portugal.”

Minister of Transport: Decision on site of new airport expected soon
 
During a speech to inaugurate a pedestrian tunnel under the runway at Haifa Airport, Minister of Transport, Yisrael Katz said that he was working with the Prime Minister on the issue of Israeli airlines overflying Saudi Arabia.

General Manager of Ben Gurion Airport to retire in November
 
The managing director of Ben Gurion Airport, Zeev Sarig will end his term of office this coming November after 5 years as managing director and after 33 years working for the Israel Airports Authority (IAA). His replacement will be chosen from one of three candidates, among them Deputy Director General of Administration & Organization, Shmuel Zakai.

Kobi Zussman: Claims by the Travel Agents Association against the BSP system exaggerated
 
The manager of IATA in Israel responded to the complaints of the Israel Travel Agents Association to the Antitrust Authorities. Zussman: “The BSP system operates to the benefit of everyone, travel agents, airlines and consumers.”
