El Al to start code share with Montenegro Airlines
 
A high level delegation of representatives from El Al and Knafaim Holdings held talks in Montenegro with the local Minister of Transport and the heads of Montenegro Airlines. A range of subjects were discussed, among them cooperation on tourism with emphasis on special understandings and especially code share agreements.

Austrian Airlines delays increasing capacity on Tel Aviv route
 
As a result of falling demand, Austrian Airlines decision to increase capacity by 30 percent on the Tel Aviv to Vienna route has been put on hold. At the end of December the company celebrated 45 years of activity in Israel and had in recent months planned to increase capacity on the route.

Corsairfly return to Israel
 
French airline Corsairfly, part of the TUI group announced the renewal of flights between Paris and Tel Aviv from the end of May. Corsairfly will operate two weekly flights through their Israeli representative TUI-Holiday Travel.

Incoming tourism down 25% in Q1 2009
 
Data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics shows that there was a 25 percent fall in incoming tourism to Israel during the first quarter of 2009, compared to the same period last year. Thanks to the military operation in Gaza and the ongoing economic slowdown, there was also a significant fall in one day tourism, down by 50 percent on the previous year.

Ministry of Transport considering scrapping "Code Positive"
 
The Ministry of Transport are considering cancelling the "Code Positive" trial, only a few months after it began operating. Educational web site became aware of this following a document sent by the ministry in the wake of the recent Delta Airlines incident. In the document it is written that from April there will be no need for airlines participating in the trial to carry the secret code until further notice.

Passover 2009: Fall in passenger traffic worse than expected
 
Data released by the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) shows that during the Passover holiday, passenger traffic fell by 13 percent compared to last year. This exceeded the 10 percent fall that was predicted. During the holiday period a total of 446,000 passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport, of that number 429,000 were on international flights.

British Airways offer 30% discounts on winter flights
 
With the summer season approaching, British Airways will this week announce prices for their flights to London and North America for winter 2010. In order to attract customers for the winter season the company is willing to offer discounts of up to 30 percent on tourist class tickets.

Truvle Ltd launch advertising on ET
 
Israeli company Truvle Ltd, owned by business man Ofer Glazer, has announced the launch of a new software product which allows targeted advertising on the e-ticket sent by the travel agent to the traveler\'s personal email address.
